Hi Suzanne,
I just wanted to thank for the help you gave me with Stormy. We are loving our long walks now. She is so well behaved. She can even go sniff other dogs with no problems. She’s decided that she loves water. I can’t wait to get her out to a lake some day to see how she likes swimming. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks again.

We have had the fortune to know Suzanne since Dexter was 10 weeks old (he is now 14 months). Suzanne’s wisdom has positively impacted all aspects of our life with Dex. Suzanne is a skilled trainer and an excellent instructor. Suzanne has come to our home for one-on-one training and has taught us three levels of classes (kindergarten, basics and intermediates). She has a very affirmative manner and is so encouraging to both dogs and people. She really understands dogs and has provided me insight to all of the dilemmas I have encountered when training Dexter. She currently cares for Dexter in the day care at Especially for Pets. Dexter adores Suzanne. I am always in awe at her command of dogs. She has the entire room of dogs at the day care respecting her and following her lead perfectly. She understands how to motivate and teach dogs. She has given us the tools we needed to train Dexter to loose leash walk, sit, stay, stay in one place and come when he is asked. We are currently working on off leash reliability and plan to take her next class in the summer. She has given us the insight on how to achieve a balanced relationship with a happy social dog. Dexter is a pleasure to have in our family and I attribute much of this to Susanne’s influence. Suzanne Mah Woo is an exceptional trainer and we are so lucky to have her working in Calgary. I am very grateful for all Suzanne has given our family, thank you Suzanne!
Already had a great dog, Emma Louise, whom I trusted in any and every situation. Consequently, I thought I knew all I needed to know about owning, raising and training dogs. Wrong! Jake insinuated himself into my neat little pack of 2 and turned the world upside down. We decided on Suzanne’s “Cultured Canines Basic” where Jake was obtrusively loud and I repeatedly lost my composure. Nonetheless, we emerged as ‘most improved players’ and felt confident we would continue to improve our social graces. Moving from being the owner of one intelligent, high-energy dog to the owner of 2 intelligent, high-energy dogs put me at the frontier of my ignorance and the end of my tether, so I called on Suzanne for some private lessons. She taught me a handful of powerful techniques to help me regain my status as pack leader. Then she helped me tune into my own posture, tone of voice, tension and whole energetic field. She showed me how those affect the behavior of my dogs and helped me to adopt an attitude of calm dominance. What a fabulous journey. I can’t say that I always trust Jake in every situation, but my awareness of him is so acute, that I know when I can let him go and when I have to reign him in. He’s a pretty good little gentleman most of the time and Emma Louise is a happier dog, now that I’m solidly in the pack leader role.
Shortly after my husband and I adopted our American Staffordshire Terrier we realized he had some aggression issues towards other dogs. At the time we were enrolled in Basic Obedience Training classes at Especially for Pets however spent a large portion of the class consumed with fear surrounding Fellas outbursts. The owner of Especially for Pets, Cori, asked if we were interested in more training and specifically in working on Fellas aggression. My husband and I were both very motivated to do as much training as required to give not only our new beloved companion the necessary skills but also ourselves. Cori highly recommended we contact Suzanne and from our first meeting with Suzanne our lives were changed for the better! Suzanne assessed Fellas behaviour and almost instantaneously assured us his aggression was not only fear based but very workable, within these first few minutes Suzannes confidence, ability and knowledge was clear. We immediately started Behaviour Modification classes with Suzanne. Within a week Suzanne taught us to read and understand a dogs body language. In no time we were participating in pack walks, despite my strong apprehension to do so Suzanne reassured me every step of the way. After our six week Behaviour Modification program we went on to participate in Suzannes Cultured Canine Basic class and this time around we were able to truly learn the skills instead of just worrying about Fellas poor reactions. When we graduated from basics we moved on to a Hollywood Hounds Tricks class which was tons of fun. We are now currently half way through Suzannes Cultured Canines Intermediate class. Most recently we participated in some private sessions with Suzanne to assist Fella in learning to appropriately socialize with our friends very playful dog, it was a total success! In addition to all of the formal training we have done with Suzanne, she also offers Fella training on an ongoing daily basis while he is at Doggie Day Care and he is now able play with all the other dogs without any negative reaction. Lastly, Suzanne has always taken the time to offer advice, answer questions and just in general reassure us when we doubted our abilities as handles, primarily me. Suzanne is consistently kind, compassionate, patient, respectful and always brings a generally calmness to any interaction. She has been hugely supportive not only with training but also has shared her wealth of knowledge in all areas. We could never thank Suzanne enough for how much she has helped us and continues to help us on a daily basis!
